United States Mint

During my stint as a motion designer at Industrial Color, I was privileged enough to have an opportunity to create content for the U.S. Mint. During the production phase, the team flew out to Wyoming for photography.

Compositing, editing, animation and end card motion design were my primary contributions for this series of videos. US Mint provided the original artwork for the featured coins. These artwork were brought into Photoshop and Illustrator, separated into layers and optimized for animation before being imported into After Effects. AE’s puppet tool came in extremely handy for motion such as the blinking and subtle movement of the head and arms of the presidents and figures featured in the coin faces.

Impact: These videos we created garnered millions of views on the U.S. Mint’s official YouTube channel, and became the channel’s most viewed videos. As of August 2023, Celebrate Our Nation’s History received 3.4 million views, Explore the Collection had 1.7 million views followed by American Innovation at 1.6 million views.
